Needleminders are an essential tool for any kind of needlework. They keep your needle in place so you don't lose it, and a properly built one is also strong enough to help manage your scissors or your excess fabric.
Most of the needleminders available are just a magnet glued to the back of a cute tchotchke, and often not well suited to the purpose. Either the magnets are too weak to hold the minder on the project (much less the needle or your snippers), or the magnet is just bare and therefore applies its force to too small an area, potentially damaging the project.
All of my needleminders were designed from the ground up for this specific purpose. The have extremely strong magnets but distribute that force across a larger area of the project to protect it. They are also easily relocated on the project by sliding them.
