Carl Sagan Quote Cross Stitch Pattern "Wanderers" (ft Voyager I Spacecraft)
Humanity has always been at our best when we push outward, move forward, and redefine what is possible. The ocean of space calls to us now, as we sit on the shores of the sky looking upward and outward. At a time when many are calling for us to move backward, to withdraw, to turn back the hands of progress we have so painstakingly wound forward, it is more important than ever for us to look beyond ourselves to the next great leap forward.
This cross stitch pattern celebrates the beauty of science, of discovery, and of the spirit of cooperation which only the great drive for knowledge can engender, in the words of quite probably the most eloquent spokesman science has ever had: Carl Sagan.
It also commemorates the 40th anniversary of the launch of the Voyager 1 spacecraft, the farthest man-made object from earth. Just above the magnetometer boom, you'll notice a pale, blue dot. This one single stitch depicts the planet on which every human being has lived out their entire life, inside the great empty vastness of space.
