It is the only space telescope designed to be serviced by astronauts, and consequently has been serviced or upgraded five times, including the replacement of all 5 main instruments (Space Telescope of Theseus, anyone?).

It has provided us with the most breathtaking views of our universe to date, and expanded our knowledge of astronomy probably more than any single other project or mission.
