This prompt immediately made me think of two things. First, "Biscornu" roughly translates into English as "quirky", which is why they are called that - they're just quirky little things.
Second, in Doctor Who Season 5 Episode 7 (of the rebooted series - during the time of Matt Smith as the 11th Doctor), "Amy's Choice", the Dream Lord says to the Doctor
If you had any more tawdry quirks you could open up a Tawdry Quirk Shop. The madcap vehicle, the cockamamie hair, the clothes designed by a first-year fashion student. I'm surprised you haven't got a little purple space dog just to ram home what an intergalactic wag you are.
And I was having trouble deciding which of these things would inspire today's pattern. Then it hit me.
BiscornWho!
This will make about a 3" biscornu on 14ct. It's designed for the time-wimey swirls that come from the TARDIS on the underside to be a contiguous swirl all the way around the rim of the assembled biscornu, so make sure you read the pattern notes. I'm giving a difficulty rating of "moderate" just because the assembly is fiddly. The stitching itself is definitely an Easy!
